Allson Hotel Singapore

Allson continues to be a strong tourist class hotel in the city’s historic district. In 2003 the facade got a complete face-lift, adding a soundproofing layer to keep out traffic noise from busy Victoria Street below. Guest rooms have fresh carpeting, paint, and drapes, and new bed coverings and upholstery. Carved rosewood furniture — headboards, side tables, and armchairs in quaint Ming-style carvings are an elegant touch for such a moderately priced accommodations. Even the heavy doors leading into the rooms are carved rosewood. Bathrooms have been recently retiled with spotless grout. The small pool area and even smaller gym have received some maintenance touch ups. With a good location and modest prices, Allson is a great choice for value-conscious leisure travelers.
